We are delighted to introduce “ Bayota’s Library Project”, a non-profit initiative by Leaders’Room that aims to create equal access to quality education for children and youth in rural areas and hard-to-reach places.
We believe that education is the foundation of any society, and that access to books, computers, and other academic skills and resources is critical for the well-being and academic accomplishment of children and youth, as well as the economic growth of communities.
As a step towards this initiative, on July 14th, 2022 Leaders’ Room hosted its opening ceremony to lay the cornerstone for the Library of Bayota, Gagnoa, Ivory Coast. The ceremony was attended by the local official of Bayota sub prefect Mr Traore Issa, the chief of Logouata, other chiefs including the canton Chief of Nekede.
It began with local chiefs blessing the ceremony and the site for the library's development. Mr. Traore delivered remarks to praise the action of Leaders’Room the Chiefs emphasized the importance of the library to the community and the completion of the "Bayota's Library Project." Perhaps, many nonprofits and humanitarian groups would come, but many might not commence or complete their initiatives. The event was concluded with a local artist performance and food and drink.
The library will offer free books, textbooks, computers, school materials, study rooms, classrooms, and other amenities, as well as space for students, teachers, and others to read, learn, study, and create.
Children in Bayota are especially affected by the lack of resources. In rural areas and hard to reach places school libraries are a rarity. This often puts children at a distinct disadvantage as they struggle to access the same resources as their more privileged peers in the cities.
But all that’s about to change.
Leaders’Room has put together an exciting campaign called “ Bayota’s Library Project” and is inviting donors to contribute to the project.
